Our Staff

KMC-Maryland is staffed completely by volunteers who love what we do and want to help offer peace and happiness to the greater Baltimore area and beyond. If you would like to volunteer too, please visit our volunteer page. If you have any questions for us, please feel free to contact the people below. This page is under construction, and more staff will be added in the next few weeks.

Administrative Director (AD)
Kelsang Menla is the AD of KMC-MD. He oversees daily running of the center, its finances, physical space issues, volunteers, and various other aspects of center management. He has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism for 12 years and took ordination in 2001. He inspires our community with his dedication to the center and his joyful effort. You can contact him at Director@MeditationMd-DOT-org.

Laura

Book Keeper
Laura Charping is our bookkeeper. Her excellent attitude and positive energy makes an otherwise tedious set of tasks fun! You can contact Laura about financial questions at Finance@MeditationMd-DOT-org

Kalden

Education Program Coordinator (EPC)
Our EPC is Kelsang Kalden. She oversees and coordinates all aspects of our classes, study programs and events, ritual needs and artwork, and various other aspects of our spiritual program. Kalden has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism for 14 years and was ordained in 2004. She mostly recently lived at our national temple in Glen Spey, NY. Kalden is known for her loving kindness, sincere dedication to serving others, and for her boundless energy and inspiration. You can contact her at EPC@MeditationMd-DOT-org.

Graphic Design & Website
Our graphics are done by Velvet Huff and our website by Chance Pascale and a small team of volunteers. Velvet is a graphic designer by trade and a newly trained barista! You can see her eye-catching designs on our lovely postcards that get distributed around town and enjoy her warm personality at Peace & Pancakes on Sundays. Chance is a computer scientist and our webmaster. He keeps everything behind the scenes functioning well so that our website looks great and our team of volunteers can keep all the content up-to-date. You can meet Chance at his weekly class in Odenton. If you see something wrong with our site, please let us know. Contact Chance at Webmaster@MeditationMd-DOT-org.
