Happiness from a Different Source
All living beings have the same basic wish to be happy, but very few understand the real causes of happiness. We generally believe that external conditions such as food, friends, cars and money are the real causes of happiness, and as a result we devote nearly all our time and energy to acquiring these, only to find out that the resulting happiness is quite short and they also produce suffering. Buddha teaches us how to develop and maintain lasting happiness without also suffering.

The Anger Monster
One of our most destructive minds is anger which often arises when we encounter something we do not like or we fail to satisfy our desires. If anger is not recognized early, it can become a destructive force that destroys our peace and happiness and impells us to engage in harmful actions that cause others and ourself to suffer. Buddha taught many methods for recognizing, reducing and finally eliminating this demon from our mind.
